Many of us neglect our guest bedrooms or even use it as a storage dumping ground. There are simple changes you can make to your guest bedroom, though, that can easily transform the space. Here are some excellent design ideas for your guest bedroom to make it extra cozy and welcoming.

Big Mirrors

One of the most frustrating things to deal with when traveling is missing a full-length mirror. It is a nice touch to make sure you include a full-length mirror in all of your guest bedroom designs. It’s also a great trick for making a space feel larger and airier. If you don’t have a lot of space, you can always choose a more narrow mirror or even hang one on the back of a door.

Cozy Seating

If you have the space, it’s always nice to make sure there are several different areas for your guest to hang out and enjoy themselves. Adding even one cozy chair somewhere in the room can help to achieve this. A chair or two can help create a relaxing spot where your guest can sit and read a book or simply put on their shoes.

Use Two Twin Beds

If you have a smaller guest bedroom, then twin beds might be the perfect solution. Though we often think of twin beds for kids’ rooms, you can make them look chic and sophisticated in the right space. Use the same linens on each bed to pull the look together, and choose a beautiful bedside table that works in-between both beds if you’re short on space.

Use a Desk or Vanity

If you have a tighter space, a desk or vanity could work great next to a bed in lieu of a standard bedside table. Make sure to include some convenient items, like pads and paper, a magnifying mirror, a phone charger or anything else that might make your guests’ stay a bit more enjoyable and stress-free.

Set Up a Coffee Corner

If you want to give your guests a bit more space, consider setting up a coffee station in their bedroom. They won’t need to bother you or the rest of the family in the morning.

Create a Luxe Bed

No matter what type of setup you have in your guest bedroom, one thing we can all do is make the bed feel as luxe as possible. High-thread-count sheets, a duvet, extra pillows and an extra blanket always go a long way.

Bedside Lighting

Always try to make sure you have some sort of bedside lighting available. Table lamps are a simple solution to add to a bedside table, but sconces also work well. Plug-in sconces are a great option if you want to avoid any tricky installation or rewiring.

Use All Available Space

In a smaller guest bedroom, don’t overlook any space as an opportunity to add a functional touch. Shelves can provide extra storage space on the wall. Perhaps you can sneak a pretty wicker basket under a bedside table. Or, if you’re adding a bench to the end of the bed, think about finding one that also offers storage for extra pillows and blankets.
